Recently I heard rumours through unofficial flyers and e-mail and even mouth talk mentioning that TM UniFi is coming soon to Bintulu, Sarawak. Some even says that it will be coming as soon as February 2013. Of course most of us are looking forward for UniFI since there are very limited choice of blazing fast internet broadband specifically in Bintulu and generally in Sarawak.

Well I decided to check the validity of this rumours since I don’t like to be frustrated if it not coming to Bintulu as early as February 2013 as mentioned by some. Besides, I have not seem any evident on the upgrading or the instalment of fibre optics which is the core technology behind UniFi, unlike the traditional land phone line used by Streamyx.
So on Monday, 15 Oct 2012 I decided to e-mail the UniFi Online Customer service on this matter. Please on their reply below:

Thank you for your interest in TM’s new UniFi products. Firstly, we would like to apologise for the late reply.
Refer to your e-mail on UniFi availability , we are sincerely apologize to report that as of today, the Sarawak area is currently NOT serviceable for UniFi service. Please be informed that at this moment, UniFi are only available in Klang Valley area, certain southern state and certain industrial area in northern state. We are currently unable to give better estimation time.
